Terrain Inspired Moss Wreath

Ok, ok….I know you all are sick of hearing about my obsession with all things Anthro so bear with me.  Anthropology has a line called Terrain which they say is “… inspired by the idea of merging house and garden to create an experience for all of the senses.”  LOVE that!  While I do want every single thing in their store I just can’t justify spending almost $200 on a wreath.  I don’t think I could convince my husband of that either.  😉  I have always thought moss wreaths were so pretty and realized they are very easy to make.  So I thought I would give it a go and I was super pleased with the results! This moss wreath brings so much life to any room, and it spells like spring!

Before we start here is the inspiration from Terrain. A little intimidating but I was up for the challenge:)

Materials you will need: (all purchased from Hobby Lobby, but you should be able to go to any craft store)

  • hot glue gun
  • adhesive spray
  • grapevine wreath
  • different varieties of moss
    • reindeer spring green moss
    • reindeer basil moss
    • reindeer brown moss
    • spanish moss

Building your wreath:

Step 1: Use moss of choice (I used the spanish moss) as a base for your other mosses to sit on.  Secure the moss onto the grapevine using adhesive spray.

I learned the hard way you really have to be trigger happy with the spray.  The moss has to be really secure or the other layers of moss will not stay.  It’s a bit messy and you might look like your wearing a gillie suit by the end.

Step 2: Use a hot glue gun to secure the other mosses to the wreath.  Have fun with it.  It’s suppose to be whimsy so don’t stress to much about placement.

Step 3: Hang and admire 🙂 This wreath is great for an indoor OR outdoor space.
