Dress Details?

I don’t remember the brand but it sounded like Provolone. It was simple, elegant, with a little bit of sass and I loved it. I added a sparkly belt to it to give it a touch of bling. By the end of the day the majority of the bottom was covered in mud, but I certainly didn’t mind. 🙂

Grooms Outfit Details?

I had always pictured a sharp blue or charcoal grey suit for my groom, but Dhugie really loved the of idea jeans, boots and a vest. I was hesitant at first, but as I knew it was what he really wanted, I decided to love my groom and just go with it! And I’m so glad I did! His outfit came together so great! He looked smokin!

Where did you get the inspiration for your wedding?

The only things I said I wanted at my wedding when I was younger was pie and yard games. And to get married at a barn. It all took shape from there. Unfortunately the yard games did not happen because of weather, but the rustic working horse ranch and the amazing HOMEADE pies my friends made, just made it all the more special!

Describe your wedding in three words.

Fun, Meaningful, and VERY “us”!

How did he propose?

He told me that one of our friends, Tyler Hunt, needed a “couple” for a “film project” he was working on. We have both worked with Tyler in the past for various projects, so it was not out of the ordinary. We spent the morning downtown at a friends house getting some footage. Tyler wanted to get some shots of us at Garden of the God’s before the sun went down. He positioned us in the most perfect lighting, and it was then Dhugie got down on one knee. He pulled out the most stunning ring and asked me to marry him. I of course said yes.

Any funny moments from the day?

Maybe when I wrapped my vail around my neck as a scarf as it was freezing outside? Or perhaps the part where we beat up a divorce piñata….

Most stressful part of planning?

Honestly, for the most part, planning my wedding wasn’t stressful. I really enjoyed the process, and a lot of that came down to being very flexible with plans. I knew what I wanted but was not so locked into something that if it did not work I would be worried or stressed. I think the most stressful part was just making sure all the little details came together the closer we got, it seemed every time I crossed something off my list, three more things got added! But it all got taken care of eventually.

Any advice for other brides?

HIRE A DAY OF COORDINATOR. My day would have been a disaster without Amanda. She and I met a number of times before the wedding and I was able to download my brain into hers so that she could take care of everything the day of. This and the help of 15 other amazing friends who volunteered with set up and tear down, was the reason that I had a nearly stress free day!
